Children’s Specialized Hospital autism-team evaluations are comprehensive assessments geared for children who typically have not been formally diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder, but who have difficulties involving communication, behavior and/or social skills. Our team consists of expert developmental pediatricians, child psychologists, speech/language therapists, and occupational therapists each trained in using specific tools designed for this special population. The team evaluation typically involves three visits and includes neurodevelopmental, psychology, speech/language evaluation and occupational therapy evaluations which are conducted in a team format as part of the evaluation.
Parents should take the time to talk to their child’s doctor or nurse about their child’s development. If you are considering an autism-team evaluation for your child, call 1-888-CHILDREN, extension 2493.
