Members of the New Jersey State Council of Sheet Metal Workers gathered on May 22 at The Mercer Oaks Country Club in West Windsor to play golf and raise funds for Children’s Specialized Hospital Foundation. The 4th Annual Golf Outing raised $10,000.

“Today was a meaningful day for all us. After I visited Children’s Specialized Hospital and saw first-hand the amazing work they do for kids with special needs, I knew exactly where the funds from this outing needed to go,” said Joe Demark, President of the New Jersey State Council of Sheet Metal Workers. “Children’s Specialized Hospital Foundation helps to make these kids’ dreams possible.”

“Having the support of businesses and organizations across New Jersey makes a real difference in our ability to provide critical care to children in need,” said Philip Salerno, lll, president and chief development officer of Children’s Specialized Hospital Foundation. We are incredibly grateful for local partners like Joe Demark and the NJ Sheet Metal Workers.”

Deirdre Caruso, Volunteer Coordinator at the Children’s Specialized Hospital in Toms River and Family Faculty member was a guest speaker. She expressed, “Children’s Specialized has been a significant part of my life for more than 27 years. It has become more than just a hospital to my 3 children. It continues to be a significant source of care and support for us during the toughest of times. It is absolutely heart-warming to see members of the community come together to benefit such an important and meaningful cause.”

Children’s Specialized Hospital, a nonprofit organization, is leading the way into a brighter future for children and adolescents facing special health challenges – from chronic illnesses ad complex physical disabilities like brain and spinal cord injuries, to developmental and behavioral issues like autism and mental health.
