June 30, 2015

New Brunswick and Mountainside, NJ: On Friday June 12, over 230 employees from L’Oréal USA, based in Clark, NJ and Berkeley Heights, NJ, volunteered at Children’s Specialized Hospital as part of their annual Employee Volunteer Day of Service.”

Over 75 employees volunteered at the Mountainside location to help clean the playground, plant flowers, clean service vehicles, organize and clean therapy rooms. The group also created handmade cards for patients, as well as organize the “toy donation” closet. About 35 employees volunteered at the New Brunswick location to make cards for patients and create decorations for an upcoming Family Fun Night.  Back at the L’Oréal USA headquarters, 124 employees volunteered work on decorations and cards for the patients to enjoy.

Every year L’Oréal has a company-wide service day and Children’s Specialized Hospital is fortunate to be one of the locations. This is the eighth year that L’Oréal USA has conducted a nationwide day of service. The L’Oréal USA Operations Americas team’s support goes beyond volunteer service.  The team made a commitment in 2008 that Children’s Specialized Hospital would be their local charity of choice and has since then raised $3.2 million with a charity golf event to support the mission of Children’s Specialized Hospital to treat children with complex medical needs reach their fullest potential.

Children’s Specialized Hospital is the nation’s leading provider of inpatient and outpatient care for children from birth to 21 years of age facing special health challenges — from chronic illnesses and complex physical disabilities like brain and spinal cord injuries, to developmental and behavioral issues like autism and mental health. At thirteen different New Jersey locations, our pediatric specialists partner with families to make our many innovative therapies and medical treatments more personalized and effective...so children can achieve more of their goals.
