Hess Donates Hess Toy Trucks to Children at PSE&G Children’s Specialized Hospital with New York Yankee Alum Mickey Rivers

December 06, 2016

New Brunswick, NJ – December 5, 2016:  PSE&G Children’s Specialized Hospital today received a donation of 2016 Hess Toy Truck and Dragster toys from Hess Corporation. The donation included a special appearance by Former New York Yankee Mickey Rivers, who visited with patients, families and staff in New Brunswick on Monday, December 5.

Rivers gave out autographs, posed for photos and delivered the 2016 Hess Toy Truck and Dragster to over 60 pediatric patients facing special health challenges — from chronic illnesses and complex physical disabilities like brain and spinal cord injuries, to developmental and behavioral issues like autism and mental health at PSE&G Children’s Specialized Hospital.

The 2016 Hess Toy Truck and features LED lights, a slide-out ramp and four realistic sounds, including a race-starting countdown. The dragster’s innovative weight-transfer design and pull-back friction motor enable launch in either a flat or wheelie position. The two vehicles feature green accents, sleek chrome styling and more than 50 brilliant lights.

As part of the holiday tradition surrounding the Hess Toy Truck, Hess Corporation is spreading holiday cheer this year at PSE&G Children’s Specialized Hospital. Hess visits hospitals annually along the East Coast to donate Hess Toy Trucks to young patients and brighten their holiday season.

“We are grateful that the Hess Toy Truck, Hess Corporation chose to bring Mr. Rivers to deliver their iconic holiday truck to our patients,” said Philip Salerno III, President and Chief Development Officer, Children’s Specialized Hospital Foundation. “We are honored to have corporate partners that bring smiles and once in a life time experiences to our patient families that will be spending the holiday season away from home.”
