Playball for Miracles 10th Annual Charity Softball Tournament May 3
Benefit Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals
April 22, 2014 - Children's Specialized Hospital

Playball for Miracles (PBFM) will hold their annual charity softball tournament on May 3 in Warinanco Park in Elizabeth. Men’s and co-ed softball teams are invited to participate and fundraise for Children’s Specialized Hospital, one of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Playball for Miracles was established in 2005 and has raised over $90,000 to help children with special needs at Children’s Specialized Hospital, the nation’s largest pediatric rehabilitation hospital helping children
affected by brain injury, spinal cord injury, premature birth, autism, developmental delays, and life-changing illnesses at twelve sites throughout New Jersey
Sponsored by the Elizabeth NJ Firemen’s Federal Credit Union and NJ Credit Union League, the 10th Annual Playball for Miracles Softball Tournament is open to Men’s and Co-Ed Adult Teams. Teams are guaranteed to play at least three one-pitch, slow-pitch games. Top teams in both divisions battle it out in championship games and take home team trophies.

Team, families and fans can participate in many fun activities throughout the day:
·         The Elizabeth Resolutes Old Time Baseball Club will play exhibition games against the NY Gotham Baseball Club.
·         The Ultimate Game Truck returns for kids of all ages to show their video gaming skills
·         Tricky Tray Scramble – chances to win over 100 prizes of all values (donations are being accepted and already include a Suite at the Somerset Patriots Stadium – value $750)

In addition to the funds dedicated to the hospital, Playball for Miracles holds a cash raffle raising funds for a family of a firefighter or police officer that has a child with special needs. A new family is nominated each year. May 3 will be the first of multiple events run by Playball for Miracles in 2014. A Miracle Night at the Somerset Patriots Stadium will be held on August 20.
