Parent Workshop at Children’s Specialized Hospital Begins Sept. 6
Learn How to Manage Your Child’s Challenging Behavior

Parents looking to feel more effective in dealing with their child’s disruptive behavior, noncompliance, or tantrums might want to attend an upcoming seven-week workshop at Children’s Specialized Hospital, 150 New Providence Road, Mountainside, New Jersey 07092.
Psychologist Shoshana Isenberg, PhD, will lead the workshops, which take place Thursdays at Children’s Specialized HospitalSept. 6, 13, 27, and Oct 11, 18, 25, from 7­–8:30 p.m. There will also be a follow-up session Nov. 29.
Class discussions include causes of misbehavior, setting limits, managing sibling conflicts, developing and implementing a reward system, parent stress management, self-care, and support systems.
"How can I get my child to listen? Everything is a battle. They demand so much attention. He cries over every little thing.” Sound familiar? If so, Isenberg says the workshop is a must.
“The workshops will be especially useful for parents of children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or oppositional/defiant behavior,” she said.
