New Specialty Pediatric Outpatient Center Opens in Atlantic County
Children’s Specialized Hospital Opens Site in Egg Harbor Township
August 30, 2012 - Children's Specialized Hospital

Children’s Specialized Hospital announces the opening of a new pediatric outpatient center at the Risley Commons Shopping Center, 6106 Black Horse Pike in Egg Harbor Township, located adjacent to the AtlantiCare campus.  The hospital will begin treating patients in mid-September and will celebrate the opening with a free carnival, sponsored by Kohl’s Cares, Saturday, September 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the new location.
Atlantic County residents will now have access to specialized pediatric occupational, physical and speech therapies, along with specialized pediatric physician services, all close to home.
“We are pleased to welcome Children’s Specialized Hospital to Atlantic County, where their services will fill a void and complement the services we offer families in the region,” said Julie Drew, LCSW, MPA, system executive director, AtlantiCare Behavioral Health.
As the nation’s largest pediatric rehabilitation system, Children’s Specialized Hospital is pleased to extend their services to South Jersey’s Atlantic County and surrounding the area. Last year, Children’s Specialized Hospital served more than 19,000 children with special needs. The hospital provides services for children affected by brain injury, spinal cord injury, premature birth, autism, developmental delays, and life-changing illnesses.  The addition of the Egg Harbor Township location will enable the hospital to help even more kids with special needs reach their fullest potential.
“We know there are children who can benefit from our services and we are proud to offer our expertise in medical care, pediatric therapy and family centered care approach to the residents the Atlantic County area,” said Patricia Foley, associate vice president of outpatient services, Children’s Specialized Hospital.
To celebrate the opening of this new outpatient center, Children’s Specialized Hospital and Kohl’s Cares will co-host a free carnival open to the public on Saturday, September 22, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to educate the community about the services Children’s Specialized provides children with special needs.
Community members are invited to spend the day at Children’s Specialized Hospital learning how caregivers help families with kids with special needs. Enjoy a free carnival with games, food, prizes, and fun for all.
Registration is encouraged for the carnival. Call 888-CHILDRENS, ext 5343 or www.childrens-specialized.org
