National Pancake Day Returns to Benefit Children’s Specialized Hospital
15 Hours of Free Flapjacks at IHOP February 28
February 20, 2012 - Children's Specialized Hospital

IHOP’s seventh National Pancake Day is Tuesday, February 28. National Pancake Day will benefit Children’s Specialized Hospital, New Jersey’s Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. Starting at 7:00 a.m. IHOP restaurants across the nation will give each guest a free short stack of its signature buttermilk pancakes until 10:00pm. In exchange, IHOP asks patrons to donate what they would have paid for the pancakes, or more, to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. To find a local IHOP or to donate online, visit www.ihoppancakeday.com.

Miracle Balloons will be sold for $1 and $5 each, and can be personalized and displayed at participating IHOP restaurants leading up to National Pancake Day, offering guests another way to show their support of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and contribute to the National Pancake Day fundraising effort.

National Pancake Day 2011 was IHOP’s biggest one-day event in the company’s 53-year history. More than $2.5 million was raised for charity, and more than four million pancakes were given away to guests. Last year, $89,000 was raised just for Children’s Specialized Hospital from the thirty five restaurants in the New Jersey market. The IHOP in Brick, NJ became the number one fundraiser in the country, raising more than $25,000 last year alone. IHOP introduced National Pancake Day as a way to thank guests for their loyal patronage and to give back to the communities in which it operates. Since the inception of National Pancake Day in 2006, IHOP has raised nearly $8 million and given away more than 14 million pancakes to support charities in the communities in which it operates.
