Children’s Specialized Hospital Kids Honored at Rutgers Women’s Basketball Game
Walk n’ Roll May 17, 2014 – Coach Stringer Honorary Chair
February 07, 2014 - Children's Specialized Hospital

Rutgers University Athletics and women’s basketball head coach C. Vivian Stringer recently honored Children’s Specialized Hospital by dedicating one of the Lady Knights basketball games to the hospital. Patients from PSE&G Children’s Specialized Hospital in New Brunswick participated in relay races and games during half time to raise awareness for this year’s Children’s Specialized Hospital Walk n’ Roll, May 17 at Johnson Park in Piscataway.

The Hospital is proud to announce Coach Stringer as the honorary chair person for the fourth year. Coach Stringer has a special connection to Children’s Specialized Hospital and the families it serves, being the mother of two children who have been affected by serious health complications – she can relate and truly has a passion for supporting children with special needs.

“I am really honored to help Children’s Specialized Hospital. Being a mother of a child with special needs and having gone through a very tough recovery with my son, I know what it’s like for families with the same situations,” said Coach Stringer. “I am proud to be part of this event to help the hospital, which is the best pediatric rehabilitation hospitals in the country.”

The 8th annual Walk n’ Roll will take place on May 17, 2014. This event has welcomed thousands of supporters each year to enjoy a 1, 2.5 or 5 mile walk or roll around Johnson Park. Immediately following the walk supporters will enjoy a free carnival where everyone can enjoy live music, games and prizes, food, and learn about special needs. For information about corporate sponsorships or how to sign up, visit www.childrens-specialized.org/walknroll, or call 908-301-5479.
