Verizon Foundation Gives Equipment for Babies and Toddlers

The Verizon Foundation made a $15,000 gift to Children's Specialized Hospital to purchase a computer-mediated learning system for the hospital's Special Infant Care program. Through the system, play toys are connected to the computer and staff encourage infants and toddlers to learn the cause and effect of basic movements, like kicking, pushing, and pulling. "The technology is amazing in terms of what it can do for our patients," said Amy B. Mansue, president and CEO of Children's Specialized Hospital. "Because of the Verizon Foundation, we're able to provide the newest and best technology for infants with special needs.

We have seen great success with it and thank the Verizon Foundation for its partnership and expertise." The Verizon Foundation is dedicated to improving the delivery of healthcare service through technology.
