Performance Improvement
Children’s Specialized Hospital routinely focuses on projects that target improving organizational performance to better serve its patients, families, visitors and employees. In 2009, Children's Specialized is focusing on two organization-wide performance improvement projects. Here are the projects and our results:
- Decreasing inpatient & Outpatient Denials:
This process is important to examine because it has an effect on our financial well being as well as compromising being able to serve all of the children that require our services.
- Internal Resource Utilization:
This PI project is looking at how well we are utilizing our resources as an organization in an effort to reduce wait times and serve more patients. We are reviewing unavailable times for our clinicians (Physicians and Therapists) and identifying ways to ensure that our resources are maximizing our ability to see more patients. This process is important to look at because it could lead to better patient satisfaction scores, increase the number of patients we are able to see, and improve productivity of our staff
